Tour Preparation
A tentative start has been made with respect to the 2015 trip. It is now July 2014 and we have set a provisional date of the first week in January. We are considering hiring a 7/9 seater vehicle and crossing the Channel by either ferry or Euro Tunnel. We hope to base ourselves in Dieppe.
Early August. The whole team have confirmed their attendance, so the Hotel Kyriad in Dieppe has been booked and confirmed. We will depart for France on 2nd January 2015 and return one week later.
Late October, and the Eurotunnel shuttle and a nine-seater Ford Torneo have been booked. We are now completely organised and ready for the off.
We are one down on last years trip, so this year will see six of us venture away.
Normandy
This visit , the first outing was in 2009, to Normandy is the first time that we have gone beyond the British Isles.
We are all looking forward to exploring this part of France. Obviously, as Englishmen, it has many attractions, particularly those relating to WWII.
Some places we are considering visiting are listed below.
- Ranville War Cemetery.
- Bayeux Tapestry.
- The city of Rouen.
- Le Mont-Saint-Michel.
