Day 2 - Saturday
The first visit of the day was to Click Mill at Dounby. This is an old horizontal water mill which has been partially renovated. We next had a look at the remains of the Broch at Gurness. This was followed by a brief visit to the remains of the Earl's Palace at Birsay. Possibly the highlight of the day was a guided tour of the Orkney Brewery. The brewery is housed in the former schoolroom at Quoyloo. This most interesting visit was accompanied by a welcome tasting of some of their beers. We had a good evening meal at Helgi's.
