Kyriad Hotel - Dieppe

hotel

This hotel is where we will be based during our stay in Normandy.

Day 1

I met the members of the party who were travelling from Yorkshire at Ramsgate railway station at 1pm. Shortly afterwards we set off towards the departure point at Folkestone for the shuttle to Calais. We arrived at our hotel in Dieppe at about 6:30pm. The hotel rooms are very small.

We ate out at the Buffalo diner where we all had steaks, and very nice they were too. Afterwards we headed into Dieppe town centre for beers before heading back to the hotel.

Day 2

Started the day with a good continental breakfast in the hotel and then headed into Dieppe to find the Tourist Information office. We passed through the market stalls and went into the cathedral - an impressive building, and we were able to dry off a bit out of the rain. The afternoon was spent in the Chateau Museum - very interesting.

We had our evening meal in the Sarajevo Cafe Bar. Peter H, the adventurous one, was the only one to have a traditional Yugoslav dish. Two of our number had pork which they found disappointing, but those of us who had steak or fish were highly satisfied. The evening was finished off by drinking in the hotel lounge area.
