The 2016 tour by a bunch of Tykes who venture to Northern Ireland.
After breakfast, we left The Keep guesthouse to make our way to our next hotel - in Ballitoy. We drove along the Causeway Coastal Route in nice sunshine, and is quite spectacular, although we had a short hail storm over the hills.
Having dropped our luggage off at the hotel we decided to take advantage of the good weather and visit the rope bridge. It didn't quite go to plan because while we were at the rope bridge the hail returned with a vengeance - it was quite a long walk back to the car park so we got wet.
With the weather deteriorating we stayed in the hotel for the rest of the day. We attempted to play a game of pool, but none of us was particularly good at it. After dinner and drinks in the hotel bar we retired for the night.
This morning, after breakfast, we called at Bushmills Distillery just to find the opening times for another day. We then headed for Magilligan Point, passing the prison and turning the vehicle round at the Martello Tower.
Retracing our steps to Coleraine, we caught a train into Londonderry where we walked around the city walls. After a coffee and comfort break, we walked back to the railway station over the Peace Bridge and caught the train back.
After a short recovery period we assembled in the bar for our evening meal, which was a 2-course Friday special and very enjoyable.
