Conidering the time that we made it to bed we were up and about reasonable early - about 08:30. Graham and Ken went out after breakfast to pick up our hire car. We made our way to Sandness which was the end of the road. Nice beach - a bit too cold for swimming though.
Retracing our steps to Bixter, we took the road towards Voe where we found a bar and restaurant where we had a drink. We would have had some food, but as it was 14:15 and they stopped serving at 14:00 we couldn't.
After a short relaxation period we set out for the Raba Indian Restaurant for our evening meal. We had a nice meal, but the service was very slow - it was busy though. Because it was now getting on in time, we struggled to down much bear, but we gave it our best shot.
Last night's curry wasn't as good coming up the other way, but kippers for breakfast took away the taste. After breakfast we made our way to Hillswick. Here a bottle of water was filled to wash the car windscreen - the washers on the KIA were not working. From here we retraced our steps and took a turning to Stenness and the lighthouse at Caldersgeo on Esha Ness. From here we retraced our steps to the A970 and on to Heylor where the timer was set on the camera for a group photo. From here we went to North Roe passing an aircraft fuselage in someones garden and at a different location the top of a lighthouse.
Time was pressing on, so we headed back to Brae to a Fish and Chip cafe which had come highly recommended by one of the Coastguards - hoping that it would be open. It was open so we ordered six pensioners specials - a 2-course meal for £6.95. Frankie's Fish and Chips is the most northerly fish shop in the UK, and we would certainly recommend it. From here, we headed back to Glen Orchy House to relax before attacking Lerwick on our final evenings stay.
Our last day. We headed out in the direction of Scalloway, but turned off to the islands of East Burra and West Burra. We spent the day touring these islands before making our way back to the port at Lerwick, where we dropped off the hire car, before boarding the ferry for our overnight passage to Aberdeen.
