Destination

Because our main reason for visiting the Shetland Islands is to see Up Helly Aa, our destination is obviously Lerwick. We are booked in at the Glen Orchy guest house

Up Helly Aa only lasts for one day - oh! and one night also, if you can stand the pace. This being the case, and being here for a week we also intend to discover more of the islands. Last year we went south to Sumburgh, west to Scalloway and north to Yell and Unst. maybe this time we can get to some of the more remote parts of the islands.
